Privacy Policy — Country Crackle Candle
Last updated: August 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Country Crackle Candle ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses your personal information when you visit or make a purchase from [countrycrackle.com] (the "Site").
1. Personal Information We Collect
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies installed on your device. We refer to this automatically-collected information as "Device Information."
We collect Device Information using the following technologies:
- Cookies — data files placed on your device, often including an anonymous unique identifier
- Log files — track actions occurring on the Site and collect data including your IP address, browser type, internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps
- Web beacons, tags, and pixels — electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site, including the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel (see Section 4 below for details on how this is used)
When you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers — processed securely by our payment processor; we do not store full payment card numbers), email address, and phone number. We refer to this information as "Order Information."
When we talk about "Personal Information" in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information.
2. How We Use Your Personal Information
We use the Order Information we collect generally to:
- Fulfill orders placed through the Site, including processing payment, arranging shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations
- Communicate with you
- Screen orders for potential risk or fraud
- Provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services, in line with the preferences you have shared with us (see Section 3 on email marketing and Section 4 on advertising)
We use the Device Information we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).
3. Email Marketing
If you sign up for our email list or make a purchase, we may send you marketing communications about new products, collections, seasonal offers, and other updates, using Klaviyo, our email marketing platform. You may opt out of receiving these emails at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link included in every marketing email we send, or by contacting us directly at the email address below.
4. Advertising, the Meta Pixel, and Your Choices
We use the Meta Pixel (a tool provided by Meta Platforms, Inc., which owns Facebook and Instagram) on our Site. The Meta Pixel allows us to:
- You can manage your cookie preferences directly on our Site using the cookie preference tool available in the footer or upon your first visit.
- Understand how visitors interact with our Site after viewing or clicking on one of our Facebook or Instagram ads
- Show you ads for Country Crackle Candle products on Facebook and Instagram based on pages or products you've viewed on our Site (commonly known as "retargeting")
- Build audiences of people who share characteristics with our existing customers, to help us reach new potential customers ("lookalike audiences")
Meta may combine information it collects from our Site with other information it has collected from you elsewhere, in accordance with Meta's own Privacy Policy, available at facebook.com/privacy/policy. We do not control how Meta uses this information beyond the purposes described above, and we encourage you to review Meta's policy directly.
Your choices regarding this kind of advertising:
- You can manage your ad preferences directly through your Facebook or Instagram account settings (Settings → Ads).
- You can opt out of interest-based advertising more broadly through the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out tool at optout.aboutads.info or the Network Advertising Initiative's tool at optout.networkadvertising.org.
- Most browsers allow you to block cookies through your browser settings, though doing so may affect certain features of the Site.
A note for California residents: Under California law, the use of tracking pixels like the Meta Pixel to share information with third parties for advertising purposes may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. See Section 7 below for your rights regarding this.
5. Sharing Your Personal Information
We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use it as described above. For example:
- Shopify — our e-commerce platform, which powers our online store and processes payments. You can read more about how Shopify uses your Personal Information at shopify.com/legal/privacy.
- Klaviyo — our email marketing platform (see Section 3).
- Meta Platforms, Inc. — for advertising purposes via the Meta Pixel (see Section 4).
- Yotpo — to collect and display customer reviews.
- Shipping carriers (such as USPS, UPS) — to deliver your order.
- Payment processors — to securely process your payment. We do not store your full payment card details.
Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
6. Data Retention
When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information. We retain Device Information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes outlined in this policy.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and — for California residents specifically — the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information (which, as noted in Section 4, may include pixel-based advertising).
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information in Section 10 below. We will respond to your request within the timeframe required by applicable law.
8. Children's Privacy
The Site is not intended for individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us so we can delete it.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time in order to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will post the updated policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
